2010 is an important year for our church. Last year we identified a vital need to intentionally seek God's vision and will for the ministry and future of our congregation. Churches can get in comfortable places and live life on auto-pilot which causes us to miss the challenges and opportunities God puts before us. Our desire is to listen for God's voice and experience the transformation God wants to bring about in the life of our congregation.
We have enlisted Dr. Chuck Jensen, a pastor in Coatesville, PA, to lead us through a five step process in discovering the church God wants us to become. We are forming a transition team of 5-7 members to work with Dr. Jensen and bring their insights to the congregation so we can move forward in unity.
I expect it to be a challenging and exciting process with the expectation that First Baptist Church will become more effective in sharing the love of Christ with those outside our congregation.
